◆ The Story Behind the Spirit ◆
Certified educator. Eternal student. Whisky obsessive.
"What saves a man is to take a step. Then another step."
— Saint-Exupéry
I didn't grow up around whisky. There was no family tradition, no dusty bottles passed down through generations.
My first real encounter came unexpectedly—a friend poured me something golden and peated, and everything changed. That sip didn't just taste like smoke and honey. It tasted like a question: What else is out there?
So I started wandering. Through distilleries and dram bars. Through books and blind tastings. Through regions I'd never heard of and flavours I couldn't name. Each glass became a lesson, each bottle a new chapter.
The more I learned, the more I wanted to share. Passion has a way of overflowing.
What started as personal curiosity became something bigger. I pursued formal education—Edinburgh Whisky Academy certifications, WSET qualifications, countless hours of study and practice.
But the real education came from people. From distillers who shared their secrets over a dram. From fellow enthusiasts whose questions pushed me deeper. From students whose wonder reminded me why I started.
Now I guide others on the same path—not as someone who's reached the destination, but as a fellow wanderer who's learned a few things along the way.
One never reaches home. But wherever friendly paths intersect, the whole world looks like home for a time.
— Hermann Hesse
